Hello Everyone,
I find it VERY difficult to stick to a chest physio routine . I make up excuses to myself as to why I don't do it. But deep down I know I should be doing it twice a day to life a longer, healthier life. I just got the flutter from my doc...How do you feel about the flutter? How often do you use it? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

i have a very hard time finding anything that really works for me. i have a flutter, well i don't even know where it is right now. does that tell you much? the flutter doesn't do a whole lot for me. i like the vest because i have to sit there and do nothing. i find the best way to move and get stuff out of my chest is to laugh....a lot! it is the most fun and it makes me feel good. also getting my heart rate (cardio) up does wonders, so i like to go for a walk, or play with my dogs, that kind of stuff. flutter works great for others, just not me. i like a pt routine that fits into my schedule and since i laugh a lot, all the time it works for me. good luck finding what works best for you!

Hi
I use the flutter and right now its the best thing for me! I have tried the vest but just don't think its confortable...some of the respitory therapists in the hospital want me to "try" the vest again...but right now..the flutter works so why change it?
I always do mine in the morning, then at night along with my other inhalers, aerosals etc. and if I feel like I'm getting something like a cold or am extra congested..I'll kick it up to 3 times a day. I prefer the flutter because it's convienent and small.
Hope this helps! Take care!!

I'm with Megan, I don't ever use my vest. The Flutter is smaller and a lot less trouble for me, and I swear I think I cough more doing the Flutter than I do with my vest. The absolute best physical therapy, in my opinion, is if you can find some kind of cardio that you enjoy. I HATE running/walking/aerobic classes/treadmill, but last year I started horsenack riding and I LOVE it. It's the best pt I've ever gotten b/c not only is it cardio (it's harder than it looks, you really do get a good workout!), but you also end up bouncing up and down and around a lot, which shakes things loose inside you. I usually cough like crazy the whole way home from horseback lessons! It's great. Unfortunately, I fell off my horse last month and really messed up my arm , so I won't be riding for a while, but in the meantime, since all I can really do is sit in bed, the Flutter has been great!
