I know professionals will tell you that when you are TTC, you should be on a folic acid supplement.
But last year I was on it for 3 months and it made me more constipated and bunged my whole system up.
When I told my Dietian it this, didn't believe me and tried to reasure me that I should stay on it. But when I gave it another go the same thing happen.

Just wondered if anyone with C.F has experienced this as well? Or is it just me?

How much were you taking? Was it folic acid by itself? Maybe try a different brand? I didn't have any problems w/ folic acid

Hi!

My Ob/Gyn recently told me, if I am taking a pre-natal, I dont need the extra folic acid. There is enough in the pre-natal to prevent any birth defects.

For some time I was taking the ABDEK and a folic acid, now I just take the pre-natal.

My body handled the folic acid pretty well, I did not get constipated.

Hope this helped!

Was told to take 400mgs twice a week, which is a total of 800mgs. When the constipation started while taking folic acid, my dietian suggested I try another brand. I did and to a more expensive brand. But the same thing happen?

I'm thinking of trying folic acid again but Iam a little scared I might get very blocked up again. As last year it made my bowels so blocked up that I ended up having DIOS.

So I not sure whether I should trial it again or not?

I also have I.B.S which I have been recently dignosed with and am not sure whether this was set off by the folic acid last year?
