For those who have had problems with Pulmozyme and hemoptysis

Diane,

My husband doesn't use Pulmozyme because of bleeding and hasn't done so for years. He does HTS and that seems to be pretty effective for him. He is also starting to use the inCourage Vest sytem so hopefully that will help with getting that stuff up as well.

He hasn't had any significant bleeding since a major (and I mean MAJOR) bleed in Oct. 2004, so I wonder what Pulmozyme would do to him now...he docs are hoping that they have gotten all of the big bleeders thru embolizations. Hmmmm....

Good luck finding something that works well for you!

Pulmozyme by itself doesnt cause bleeds for me. There would be another problem in addition. Infection, menstrual cycle, exhaustion etc. I stop the Pulmozyme during bad bleeds because my doctor said it can irritate the already irritated/bleeding area.

My airways/lungs are very "sensitive" to any nebs both in a positive & negative way.

I'vs aslo had bleeding with pulmozyme. So I stopped it for a few weeks and then eased into it again. Now instead of 2x a day, I take it 3 times a week...same effects.
