Forgetting Enzymes

This morning in the wee hours, I started to feel some discomfort in my stomach. It didn't take me long before I realized that I had completely forgotten to take enzymes with my dinner last night, even though I've been doing this for nearly 27 years now!

Of course I had to forget on a night when I had a Chipotle bowl with fajita toppings, CORN, beans and chips with guac. (sigh) Not something my body likes to digest even with the right amount of enzymes, let alone NONE! Well, a few more hours tossing and turning in bed and I was ready to get it over with (we all know what's coming). Needless to say I've been out of bed for less than an hour and in the bathroom twice already.

So my question is two fold: Do you guys forget sometimes, after all these years? And... when you do and you get bad stomach pains, even after being in the bathroom do you feel a bit exhausted? I always end up feeling like I could crawl back in bed (maybe it's the sleep I didn't get tossing and turning). Just wondering!

Yes and Yes! You would thin that after doing it for years I'd never forget, but I do. And I'm not talking about every once in a while--I'm talking atleast once a week if not more. I'm always forgetting them. I think this maybe because I was taking 5 or 6 when I was first dx'd at 21 and then was able to drop down to 1 or 2; then I went back up, and now I'm down to 3 or 4.

And afterwards I am totally exhausted! Once I was so tired I even laid on the floor in the bathroom and feel asleep. My husband ended up coming into check on me...

I have been trying to keep track of my medicines and activities in a journal and find that its been helping me remember, although I just started again after a year or so...

Forget? No....Not have with me? Yes

When I dont take them....it takes me a day or so to feel it. Like the yucky stuff has to wait for the normal stuff to move out of the way!

Depending on what I ate depends on if I am drained or not. There are times that I had problems getting up from sitting position on the toilet because it felt like all energy was sucked out of me!

Fortunately that doesnt happen often. Thats what it was like before my diagnosis tho.....every meal, every day!

It's comforting to know it's draining for other people as well. I was afraid it was just something odd with me.

And yes, Mel, I totally know what you mean by "waiting for the normal stuff to move out of the way!" haha. So true. This is why I love this board... who else would understand and be so frank about our bathroom experiences?!
