FORTUNE COOKIE

I had a ct scan done today so my pulmonologist can determine how extensive my lung damage is. Afterward I went to lunch at a chinese buffet and was feeling sorry for myself. I opened my fortune cookie and it read "you will be blessed with longevity" and it hit home to me. Reality IS all relative as my dad has said for years. I am one month away from 41 and realize that I have been blessed with longevity. I want to learn to appreciate each day that I am alive. Today I feel I got a good start at it.

I also want to say thanks to ALL people on this forum that help support, entertain, teach, critisize, upset, humor, and love me. I appreciate you all!!!!

Good to hear man. Thankfully you werent say a terminal cancer patient that just got the word from his doctor that you now have 3 days to live. Cause seeing that on your fortune cookie, following that news, would have been the grandest form of irony EVER.

Well I did see it as irony at first. I realize though that I am fortunate to be living after 40 years. My sister died of cf at age 12.

Congratulations on having your CAT scan done. Whatever the results you are still here...so live in the present...have a good sense of humor and continue to be thankful. Please keep us updated from time to time.

I always like hearing from you, almost look forward to it. You make me feel good with your words and by the way, my mother's name is Janet too so you have a distinct advantage over everyone else. Thanks!

Our fortunate cookies near us come with the written fortune & lottery numbers.....if yours do also maybe you should play those numbers!

Well, I don't gamble (anymore) with money at least and thanks Liz for the congrats. I often felt guilty after my sister died because I was the polar opposite of her as far as health was concerned. Thats all over now. I do think everything will be ok no matter what the doctor says. I'm glad I found this forum because it has helped me a whole lot.
