It's not you, Solo. I have High Speed Internet and have my cookies cleaned out and everything, but for some reason everything is so sluggish when I come to this site lately. I'll walk away and come back a few times to see if it's loaded. It's like Dial-Up all over again. I wondered if it's overloaded w/ more visitors than usual, or if it has a glitch. Took me about 45 min. to even get this website to load entirely tonight, and no other site has that problem.

Wow! 45 minutes, that's crazy! When I was talking about lag, I was talking about seconds. I have an upload/download speed of about 10 Mbps, which is extremely fast for a home DSL line. When I click on a link on this forum, it takes 3-10 seconds to load (on average) whereas anywhere else on the web it's instantaneous. I think I would have thrown my computer out the window if something took 45 minutes to load. But overall, this site is the slowest site I frequent. Like everyone else says, I don't have problems anywhere else.

I guess I won't complain about having to double click to get something to load, lol.

There are a few things I've noticed here, that are different on other (faster running, but similar sized or bigger boards) is that:

~There is a limit on the number of pm's you can store at the site
If I want something "forever", I have to put it in a file on my computer. There is also an option to having your pm's notification sent to your email, so you have a copy of it there.

~Picture size is restricted- around 500 x 600 pixels

~Number of pics per post is restricted

~Sig size is restricted in both bytes and size- around 160 x 500, or something similar- I don't remember the kb size, but it also has to be a JPEG file, to save space

I've been told that all that is to save "bandwidth", and keep the site from getting bogged down. It can be a little bit of a hassle to learn, but worth it to have the pages load faster.

I also imagine that the blogs take up a good bit of space, but the other sites I go to don't have blogs, so I don't have the foggiest clue about that. I don't know if that helps anyone, but, just thought I would throw it out there...
