I was going to update this earlier, but had a hard time getting around it.
I was waiting last night, from 7pm to 9pm for the call, even had to skip my Iaido class!! The problem is, I have an Iaido tournament Sunday, and was hoping for one last practice before hand, to shake my nerves off a bit...It's been at least three years since I've competed in a tournament and am quite nervous, considering I made third place in it about five years ago!!
Then, I waited from 9am to noon today, thinking they would still call, despite them probably realizing that it was Satuday, and they don't work on Saturdays. Well, no phone call, so I have to add more butterflies in my stomach during the weekend, just for that!!
I've finally been able to get some interviews lined up before that one, one interview of which I was really pissed off about, cause they advertised in a foreigner's job search, but were actually looking for Japanese in the first place...total waste of my time!!
But, in my six months of unemployment, I only got about 5 interviews, and sent about a dozen resumes (That's twelve, for those of you who forgot how much is in a dozen!), which came back with a "thanks, but no thanks" reply. I want to believe that I'm worth quite a bit, but it seems some companies don't realize that...especially the company I worked at for the past 13 years!!!
At least, I'm hoping this company who's considering me, has the same hopes that my Japanese level will improve the way I hope it will improve as well!!
I looked up the location of the Earthquake that Jazzysmom (Melissa) was referring to, and it was a six pointer in Sendai City. I've been to Sendai before, and when they said no injuries were reported, I believed it cause there is NOTHING in Sendai! [Except some big hill that they claim is famous, and the population (of about 6,00?)have festivals once a year for!!]
I just hope the house I live in isn't like a fluffed pancake!! Already I can see damage from the '95 Hanshin Quake!! If it falls, the MIL is on the first floor, BTW!!
For all of those who were able to cross every body part they could for my good luck, thanks!! I'll ask the MIL to cross her tongue for me, too!!!
BTW, though Halloween is coming soon, it's Halloween every day here with the MIL in her cow suit, and flying on her broom at night!! (She never uses it for sweeping, so it must be something else!! Heheh!)
Well, sorry I gotta go, I gotta iron my Hakama, and look dandy for the tournament! I had to shave for Friday's Interview, so no "Tom Cruise Last Samurai" Look-a-like on Sunday! At least I'll look better than my Resume Photo since my hair lengthened from the haircut...boy, did I look like a geek in that photo!!! I miss my Cowboy-ish long hair from my wedding photos a year ago!! Ho-el!
