Frequent Vomiting in Cystic Fibrosis

Hmmmm, could be with the vomiting, she's aspirated some, which is making her cough. I'm assuming they've done swallow studies, checked her for reflux. With the projectile vomiting, I seem to recall a non cfer relative who did this as a baby -- pyloric stenosis.

My son has frequent vomiting problems. But he always tends to throw up in the morning, so we've narrowed it down to probably a motility problem with his stomach. We're currently experimenting with slowing down his g-tube feed rate for the two hours prior to him waking up in the morning to see if that helps. So far so good, but it's only been two days.I can definitely feel for you on the whole vomit issue, if I'm not changing sheets on his bed, I'm washing puke off his bedroom wall (yuck!!!). I do worry about your daughter coughing AFTER throwing up though - wonder if it is getting into her lungs or irritating her throat or something.

Have you asked about a motility study on her stomach? It could be that her stomach is emptying slow. If it can't odwn then it will come up. My daughter has to eat smaller meals because of this. I would go back to the GI doctor or try her primary. Don't give up and your not crazy....a mom knows when something is wrong.

I am so happy to see this post. My 10 yr old vomits all the time for no reason. His reflux is controlled and enzymes are regulated so I have thrown my hands up in the air. His nick name as a baby was "Puka duka" b/c all he did was puke. Nothing has changed! We are headed to yet another GI doc to get his opinion so we will see.
