frustrated during this waiting

You have to go where you are comfortable. There are definitely oxygen concentrators you can rent for the journey. I had a few small tanks that weren't continuous flow. I forget what they are called!

I was willing to travel any where for my transplant. I ended up down in New Orleans and it was the best thing I ever did. It was horrible being away from friends and family. But once I did get my transplant I wasn't as tempted to go out and socialize too soon. I really took the time I needed to recharge and fully get back on my feet. And the list down south in certain areas tends to be a lot shorter.

I can understand your frustration, not nearly as good as some of the people on here since I just started this process, but its got to wear on you waiting for nearly a year. My transplant center (Penn in Philly) told me at my initial meeting that I should consider listing both there and at Columbia (Lex's center). If I was you (and in a way I am...lol) I would double list if you can. I realize that the logistics of living in another area would be very hard, but for us it's a life or death issue, we can't wait forever so do what you can to shorten it.

Cheers,
Jim

40 year old PWCF working on listing at Penn (Feb can't come quick enough)

It may not be the center but your transplant coordinator. I only say that because I was listed in October and couldn't get my coordinator to give me my LAS or tell me where I was on the waitlist or anything. They switched my coordinator mid-December and she was very upfront with both the LAS and my spot on the waitlist. I don't know if you can switch by request or not.

Good luck with everything. We are with you feeling the waiting frustration.
