frustrated...son is sick AGAIN..it never ends

hi every1. so we are just ending 6 freaking weeks of abx to fight off yet another sinus infection. this is like his 6th one and he just had sinus surgery in june. and when i say 6th one that all included over the past 18months. so yesterday he wakes up with a cold. ugh i cant believe it. hes a mess completly stuffed up. crust in his nose in the morning. coughing ofcourse. aidan has not had more then a 2 months maybe off from being sick in some way in over a year. now i knew when he started kindergarten he would get sick. the sinus infection came first, but i dont think thats from school. weve pretty much determined sinus issues is the track his cf is taking. but now a cold. and i just knw this isnt going to end well. last clinic we decided if he gets anothr sinus infection right after this last one then its back to the ENT to do another surgery im sure. but with the cold i was told yesterday from doctor that if things arent better by wednesday. of course on monday they are my first call to let them know how hes doing and im sure a decision will be made then, that were gona need to get to the ENT for this cold and decide what to do. cause we pretty much know that this is gona affect his sinuses soon it always has in the past. 
 
so with all that said, im just fed up i really cant believe it. we were at the end of this sinus infection 3 days left of abx and now this. my baby cant get a break. is it always gona be like this now? cause thats what i feel like? like progression is getting the best of us right now and maybe with a prayer it will calm dow? so theres my rant thanks for reading needed to get that one out. every1 have a fun and safe halloween.

Elizabeth...I feel your pain. My Aidan is 7 and has struggled with sinus disease since age 1. His lungs and weight are FANTASTIC yet he is sick ALL the time with horrid sinus infections. It's horrible. He just had his tenth sinus surgery and finished a month of IVs for the sinuses. Oral antibiotics don't really work anymore for his infections because they become so packed so quickly. We are kinda at our wits end too. We are already scheduled for sinus surgery 11. Does your Aidan do sinus rinses? We've been doing them since age 1 and they help a lot but not enough...Do you do IVs ever for the sinuses?

Do your kids culture MRSA? My son just did 30 days of Bactroban in a sinus rinse. biz, if your son isn't doing sinus rinses he should because they are great for washing away infection. Also, are his vitamin levels and nutrition good - just thinking it would be great if his immune system was a little stronger...not sure what he could take to help. probiotics?

@megan my aidan is exactly the same he has great lungs and his weight is so ggod last visit he put on 5 pounds his nutritionist was speechless.lol he had sinus surgery cause he was 100 percent blocked in 2 areas. but he is still getting them. i knw it wasnt a cure from them but still it happened pretty fast after the surgery and we just finished 6 weeks of oral abx. thank goodness they worked cause yes in the past they have ended with iv abx.

@lauren he hasnt cultered mrsa jst got back culters and they were negative. he has pseudo colonized now and staph. so we do cayston for the pseudo and when hes on oral abx we do bactrim to cover the bacteria. to the both of u bout sinus rinses weve tried numerous times in the past and he cant tollerate them. and they make him raspy and irritated. i do the nasal sinus spray and i buy the one for babies cause he give me crap bout them. i think its more of a thing of fluid goin in his nose. he screams and pushes it away and it ends up all over his face.lol. his vitamin levels are good too. we do blood work every year and ofcourse in between when we can.
