frustrated...son is sick AGAIN..it never ends

I advise that you consider including homoeopathy and herbal medicine as part of your daily treatment - continious use of abx will lead do a weakened immune system and more dependeny on abx - it is a slippeary slope - I advise this based on 12 years with a son with CF - the doctors are always critical of and advise against this approach, but after 12 years of great success following this route I am little concerned what anyone has to say about it. It works and my son's excellent health is all the evidence I need.

I had the exact same problem with Abby! I don't know if this would work for everyone but we got a whole house IQAir Hepafilter and oh my goodness the difference it made!!! She literally was having sinus surgery every 3 months and was just so sick, so I decided to try this and for one year we had zero sinus surgeries!!! Now we are building and living with my mom with no Hepafilter and we have started with the sinus surgeries again <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> But we are fixing to move back with our filter and an added UV light in the duct work and hopefully will get back to normal. This was a God send for us. It made my husband quit snoring <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> the very night it was installed! Abby got better and my son and I who have severe allergies have been much better! I wasn't sure until we moved in with mom, but seems to me the filter is what we have to thanks for Abby's year of zero sinus surgeries! Just thought I would share. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Good luck!!

My daughter has not had sinus surgery or major sinus issues; but she has had periods where she just keeps getting sick; and it never ends. A couple things that have helped; Hypersal nebs via a face mask so it gets into the sinuses. SHe does not do sinus rinses, she HATES it. But the Hypersal I figure must get into her sinuses with the mask. Also, my daughter has alot of inflammation issues; I am assuming the sinus tissue can get inflamed as well from frequent bacterial infection. THis year my daughter has needed Prednisone Bursts for 5 days plus long course of oral anti's to blast away the bacteria. Don't love the idea of Prednisone but she stopped coughing in Sept after her Prednisone burst/anti treamtent. She does all her nebs via face mask to get into sinuses.
Just a few ideas; I know it is frustrating. Make sure his culture is up to date, too.

thanks for the feedback everyone. we do see an ENT and aidan just had surgery in june. i do like the sound of the air quality in our house. getting the filter system that your taling bout sounds acary expensive. if u can give me a link on it i wuld love that. i would love it if aidan would comply on the sinus rinses but he doesnt and ive wasted so much money on them and saline sprays. its going to take some more growing up on his part to do them. we have done the hypertonic saline in the past and i did it at the lowest percent. and it messed him up good. he was so scratchy and raspy and irritated. for weeks after just one treatment of it. that too is going to take some growing into. weve done prednisone this past sinus infection and he has had it in the past to with other sinus infections and lung inflammation. it always worked in the past but this last one i didnt see any improvement from it at all.
update: ok heres whats happened. aidan got a sinus infection six weeks ago. we just finished the abx for that this past saturday. and by the monday before that he was 100 percent better. whew i was so releived. so then thursday comes along and hes all fuclempted..lol, a stuffy mess, sinuses blocked, little cough going on tired just a mess. i was like seriously!!!! he got a freaking cold.so i call into doctor disguss everything and we decided to sit on it do extra treatments and call her on monday. cause obviously abx dont work on colds. but what the concern is this cold turning into another sinus infection like they always have. so today is monday ive talked to clinic again. cause he is no better at all. and could possible be getting worse. they say its time to see the ENT again. i dont know what he is goping to want to do? should we ride this cold out for another week? i mean what is there to really do? is it wait and see what happens? see why im so frustrated!!!! please help me out with ideas..im not sleeping good. im so sick of aidan being sick for over 6 weeks now. and its breaking my heart to see him this way. i can see that he doesnt feel good.
