If this is true for your docs find a new one. There are plenty of cf docs out there that will treat a sick child. I have been lucky that my cf docs treat me like a real person and are always there when i need them. In fact i treat them more like my primary doc. Seriously if you can find a new one I would. Sometimes travel is worth it. For me traveling really isnt a choice, the two clinics i have to choose from are both hours away. But I still love my clinic. Yes sometimes I get agravated but I let them know and they try to fix it.

To farmfamily....I have the same problem. I think I will do horrible in clinic and my weight and pft numbers are all up, in fact every things "says" im doing better than the last clinic...which i guess is good to be feeling bad but the numbers are good, maybe means some sort of improvement? I dunno. or when im feeling great numbers are down. But dont hesitate in telling them how your son feels. If you do you maybe just calling the doc again in a week or two anyway with him really feeling bad. Sometimes it could just be a start of something they can kick real fast at home.
