Funny and Gross

Tonight at work we were a little slow.. and I was surfing the net and stuff and apparently I got a little too comfortable and forgot my surroundings and I must have started to do some airway clearance.. I was coughing crap up..Hey I always do airway clearance on the computer ... I am almost trained to do it now when ever I am on the puter

anyway


I am getting a little sick so I am coughing up stuff way more then normal.... Now for me I am normally so shy about coughing up anything ..I won't even cough stuff up in front of my RT .. but I just wasn't paying attention...

Apparently I made our ER tech gag....because I look up from the computer and he is gagging staring at me..... and it wasn't till then that I realized what I was doing.. I turned bright red and apologized.... He just kept looking at me like he couldn't believe I could make such gross cough up noises..

Yuck... I can't believe I did that.

Hey, I'm exactly the same way about coughing stuff up in front of anyone (yes, even my RT!!!) Its weird. I sometimes think they wonder why I don't cough much during treatments, etc., but I usually wait until they're out of the room to do so. Plus, when doing PFTs, if I feel a cough coming, I usually hack a couple times (if I know it won't be too productive) and then drink water to stiffle more coughing. Weird. I thought I was the only one who does this sort of thing. Lots of people on here seem very open about their coughing and spitting, etc. Not me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I sometimes think they wonder why I don't cough much during treatments, etc., but I usually wait until they're out of the room to do so. My family doesn't even flinch when I cough up mucus...but if I see someone else do it then I am the one gagging! I can dish it out but can't seem to take it. LOL
