Hello, Im am 25 years old and am starting to thinking about starting a family in the next couple years. I have never been on birth control or protection since I had two very long term relationships with a partner. Its been 7 years and I have never gotten pregnant. I am starting to worry it may not be possible. I dont understand why because I am very healthy. pts have always been in the 80s-90s. Is it possible I could just be infertal. Any suggestions?

Its possible of course, but its also possible it could be a minor problem. Something as simple as just having too much mucus around your ovaries or tubes, or a hormonal problem. Or though this would be surprising, it could be that even though you've never used protection you've never timed sex right and thats how you've avoided pregnancy.
If you are in fact infertile and you would need fertility treatment of some kind to pregnant just remember that tons of women need a little help in that way, and regardless of whether they have Cf or not.
I think the bigger and first step is to decide if you are ready to have a child, then talk to your doctors to see if your body/lungs are healthy enough. There's more to consider than just having a high pft (which is awesome btw, that does give you a major leg up). Pregnancy and Cf is a 'big world' with lots to think about.
(But lots of women are doing it succesfully.)
Unless you are actively trying to conceive and charting it will be hard to be seen by a fertility specialist.
If anything, I'd go over your concerns with your obgyn and go from there.
If you aren't ready at this exact moment to have a baby but thinking about the future and the what ifs, then you should know that for the majority of women pregnancy can be achieved even with problems.

If you have been having regular unprotected sex for 7 years, I would think you may have some fertility issues going on. I always think "regular unprotected sex = trying to conceive" considering that's all most people need to do in order to get pregnant!

In addition to talking to your CF doctor before really trying to get pregnant, I would talk to your OB/GYN and tell them all this. They will probably ask you how regular your periods are, and they may ask you to chart your basal body temperature and cervical mucus for a while (the site FertilityFriend.com has more info about this). Or, they may refer you to a fertility specialist.

A lot of women with CF do have trouble conceiving because of problems with cervical mucus. Luckily, IUI is usually all that is needed to bypass the cervical mucus and get pregnant. There are several women on here (myself included) that needed to do this.

Im one of the ones that had to use IUI to get pregnant. My husband and I used no protection for 4 years and I never got pregnant. Now of course it could of been timing but I am pretty sure that my CF mucus was just a blockage that kept me from getting pregnant. I would suggest that you go talk to a fertility specialist. Tell them about your cycles, and your cf and they can run the normal test to see if anything is blocked in you other then the mucus problem. Sometimes we just need a little help to get the swimmers past our mucus <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I would not jump to the conclusion that you will have any problem conceiving if and when you actually start trying. I was in a similar situation as you when I was also 25, I had relied primarily on the "pull out" method of birth control, and figured it must have worked because I was infertile. Once I got married and actually started "trying" to get pregnant I was pregnant easily and completely naturally. I now have two kids, and both were easily concieved. I hope you are able to be pregnant with little trouble as well. Keep us posted.
