G/J Tube and tummy issues

I've been fed only through my G/J tube nightly. But its causing major diarrhea during the entire night, no matter how many enzymes I seem to take. I did take an Immodium today to see if that helped, but I don't know yet.

Has anyone had similar tube feeding problems?? Experiences??

Hey Jessica,

Just a question about why you are still on the G-Tube? Did you team discuss stopping the feedings at all and have you rely on regular food.

From what I was told, the meds from surgery and the changes to your body make it difficult for the gut to handle that type of feeding over night after the transplant.

If your regular appetite is back, I would talk to your team about trying to just rely on regular food.

I never used my feeding tube again when I got my new lungs. You might not need to put yourself through that.

Hey Jess! I had the same problem when I was on tube feedings. Didn't seem to matter how many enzymes I took, I still had to go a lot. My bowels finally got back to normal a few days after I stopped my feedings. I was on the tube feedings for about 9 months! No fun at all! Hope you can get that thing out soon. I know how much it sucks!!!! Hope you are doing well otherwise!
