G-tube & cramping

Has anyone had stomache cramping after a g-tube placement? Overall the site feels fine, just a little sore, but getting some severe cramping where the stomache muscles tighten breifly and then relax. If you had this symptom, how long did it take to work out?

It happens, it goes on forever. It only happens when your stomach is really empty. So try to keep food in you at all times. Or drink some water and it will stop.

Great, thanks! Just had it done today, so have not been allowed to eat/drink yet. I will be able to eat/drink in a couple hours (just clear liquids) so hopefully I'll feel better soon.

Good luck Teri, hope you feel better soon. It sounds like those with G-tubes in LOVE the results and are able to not fight to get so many calories in. Hope it works well for you. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
