Have any of you had any Gallbladder problems? I have had every test done recently to try and figure out what is the cause of all my stomache problems, all my tests come back Normal. Last night I spiked a fever of 102 and had a bad back ache, my lower back. I didnt have any pain on my Gallbladder area. I would like to hear from anyone who has ever had any Gallbladder problems and your personal experience!
Thanks Meranda CF CFRD Thornsgirl@nc.rr.com

I had my gallbladder out after being bedridden by nausea and stomach pain for months. That helped, but only temporarily. Then they found that I had H. Pylori (the bacteria that causes ulcers). I was treated with a round of antibiotics for that and I've had no problems since. Incidentally, it has been discovered that most women who have morning sickness during pregnancy have H.Pylori in their gut. I got pregnant about 6 months after being treated for the bacteria and never experienced nausea (except when I took too much iron in pill form). You might want to check  for H. Pylori, apparently it's pretty common.

I had lots of problems with my gallbladder 2 years ago. I was throwing up every day and everyone couldn't find out what was wrong cause nothing came back on the tests even the ultrasounds cause they were hidden. At first they thought I had phenioma (sorry about the spelling) and then I couldn't keep anything down that I ate or drank. Then they thought I was making myself sick on purpose untill they found the gallstones. they didn't find them till several mths. after I had been sick. They finally had taken it out but not till about 2 or 3 mths. after they found them cause by then I was sick with phenioma. After that I have been doing good since and have had no more problems with it. Something that helped the pain I had was putting a heating pack on my stomach.

I myself still have my gallbladder, and even though I have what they call "sludge" in my gallbladder it still works. I do however know several people who have had it taken out. But don't think that it's just a CF thing. Even my mom had hers removed, and no She doesn't have CF. Gall-stones are a common thing. I do think more people with CF have more problems because of the mucus that's created. Remember CF isn't a lung disease. It's a diseas causing a sodium chloride imbalance in the cells, therefore creating thick mucus. Every mucus membrain will be effected. Lungs, Sinus, Digestive, Reproductive. Everybody is different so one person might have a problem, and someone else will not.
After my tx I got a virus (from my doner) called CMV. This is like a chicken-piox virus. You get it once, and don't have it again, but you carry the antibodies for it. 3% of the population has not had this virus, and I am in the 3%. My donor had it, and of course was carrying the antibodies. I developed the virus, and was in major pain in my abdomon. They (UCSD-where I had my trnasplant) originally thought I was going to have my gallbladder taken out. But then Kaiser ran a second blood test, and dicovered the virus. Saved my gallbladder, not that I couldn't live without it. I took some anti-virus to get rid of it, and that was that.
