Anyone had one? I just had one today for both liquids and solids. Basically they feed you radioactive stuff and then 'watch' how it goes through your digestive system. The liquid one took about 1/2 hour. The stuff I drank had no taste. For the solid test they fed me eggs and toast w/ jelly. The eggs were 'spiked' with the stuff. Then every hour they scan you to see how long it takes for the food to move on through the system.
I don't have the official results yet, but the lab tech said that things were emptying more slowly out of my stomach than the normal baseline. So that got me wondering if slower is a normal CF thing? What kinds of things are they looking for and what shows up with this test?
I won't be seeing the CF GI doc for a while so I figured I'd pester y'all with QUestions. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I don't have much pancreatic insufficiency (if any - docs are still in poke me / prod me mode here) I got to hypothesizing that maybe slower is better as it would give my system more time to absorb nutrients. So that might help account for me being one of those CFers who is overweight. ANy thoughts or experiences you want to share?
