she's a communist who doesn't understand that companies don't make products to be nice to people but rather to be profitable.

the computer that you're on right now wasn't made to be nice to you - it was made to make a profit.

and on a side note, the Genentech Foundation gives out free meds to those who can't afford it. so i don't really buy the whole people who can't afford meds.

I agree with most of the posts here. It costs a ton of money to develop these drugs. Yes, it's crap that they cost so much, but they are not sold in super large quantities. The R&D costs, all the insurance the companies must carry and the limited use are all contributors to the cost. If they didn't couldn't charge so much, they probably wouldn't be produced. They aren't going to spend millions to develop the drug ONLY to give it away.

Go for the biotech! Its a huge, still emerging field that will likely get much bigger.

They aren't going to spend millions to develop the drug ONLY to give it away.

Go for the biotech! Its a huge, still emerging field that will likely get much bigger.
