I always look forward to being sedated.

<br />I had to get gall stones taken out and was put under conscious sedation. Versed (midazolam) and Demerol (meperidine). I remember feeling the sting of the demerol going up my arm, then they gave me the versed which was like having a bomb go off in my brain. *Poof* Best sleep I had in ages. The only thing I remember is seeing the speculum as they got ready to stick whatever down my throat.

I'm getting all 4 wisdoms out and the two bottom ones are badly impacted. GA is always done in a hospital in Australia. Most people I know had their wisdom teeth out with a GA - but the dentist said it's a light aneasthetic they use, so maybe it's the same one you've all had?

My FEV1 is 77% and my CF dr says it's OK. Was wondering about the vent though, how that works when they're working in your mouth?

All 4 of my wisdom teeth were badly impacted so I had to be put completely under and they did it at the hospital. The anesthetic they used causes lung supression so it was awful when I woke up and had to cough because it was like I couldn't get enough energy to get a good cough. Plus my mouth was full of gauze so I was constantly trying to rip it out to cough when the nurse was standing there trying to shove it back in! My breathing wasn't bad enough to need oxygen but they were watching me closely because of the CF. Hope that helps.
