Hey C,
I just saw that this is her second episode of cancer...
Is the opposite breast? I pray so... Do you know if she had a lumpectomy (removal of cancerous lump only) + chemo + radiation, lumpectomy + chemo, or lumpectomy + radiation???
Do you know if lymph nodes were involved from the beginning? If so, how many?
How long has it been since the first episode?
My neighbor had breast cancer first a few years ago. It was caught too late...It has now returned as pancreatic cancer which is far worse...
If it is the same breast and had radiation before, she CAN NOT have radiation to treat the area again. She can have chemo, but I'm not too sure it will do a lot because she already had it before...
If the opposite breast is affected, she has more options.
If lymph nodes are involved, that ups the antes for spreading throughout the body elsewhere which may not be able to be detected yet...
