Getting an NG Tube this weekend

With Avery's low weight we are going in this weekend to get an NG Tube. She has dropped to the 5th percentile, so both GI and Pulmo want a feeding tube as soon as possible. We will eventually get a G-tube if Avery can handle tube feedings. She has severe reflux so they are worried that she might just vomit everything up.

Wish us luck this weekend! I am not looking forward to people staring when she has this sucker in.

My daughter had a ng-tube for a few months when she was 4-7 months old. It was such a blessing to see her finally gain weight and get a little extra weight on her. She needed the ng-tube because she didn't eat much and she threw up all the time. What we didn't know was that she a milk allergy. Once we switched her to Nutramigen she began to take bottles well a few weeks later and out came the ng-tube.

She did a get a g-tube a year ago. It has also been a huge blessing. She was at -5% bmi and this past year she has been above 50% bmi. Nothing beats having her look so healthy finally. My daughter also got a nissan fundoplication at the same time last year because reflux tests showed she had severe reflux even though we didn't know it. I was soooo afraid of the surgery. But she had it laparascopically and she has had absolutely no problems from it.
