Getting Bronchoscopy Results

About a month ago I had a bronchoscopy done because my pulmo suspects I have mycobacterium.  He is suspicious because I had a bad exacerbation at the end of February and ever since then I have had a recurring low grade fever.  (You can see more details about all of this in my blog posts via the link in my signature.)
Yesterday my pulmo's secretary called saying she made an appointment for me to see him ASAP.  I guess that means they found something.
Assuming it is some kind of mycobacterium, what questions should I ask when I see him?  What things should I be aware of?
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you google MAC or MAI, you should find stuff from the University of Texas, Tyler campus and National Jewish Medical and Research Center. These are two big MAC (one of the mycos and the one that gets non-CFers the most) centers.

If you have a mycobacteria, you will likely get a CT scan to check how your lungs are now, then start a cocktail of antibiotics that your myco should be sensitive to, and have follow-up CTs. It is very important that you keep your weight up with MAC. Those fevers kill your appetite and that is baaaaad.

Let me know how your appointment goes. This is an area of interest to me and I hope you are okay and see improvement.

Saw pulmo yesterday and was surprised to discover that the cultures for the mycobacteria actually aren't in yet.
Transbronchial biopsy showed:
* Peribronchial cellular interstitial inflammation and non necrotizing granulomas
* lympocytic aggregates without germinal center
* Prominent hemosiderin deposits
* PAS and ZN negative for microorganisms
Does any of this mean anything to any of you?  Pulmo says there is some possibility of sarcoidosis, but not definite.

Hi,
 I do have Mycobacteriem Abbesses so if you have any questions you can pm me..
As far as the results you were given by your pulmo,  didn't he explain any of this with you??  If not I would ask him what the results mean so that you can understand exactly what is going on.  If he does not do this I would find another dr..
I hope all goes well.  Keep us posted ..  joni
