Im 26.5 and I have been trying for 1 1/2 months, I think I can do it on my own. It took my mom about 7-8 months to get prego with me and my MIL took I cant remember if it was a whole year or not but it took her quite a few months before she got preggo with my hubby and my BIL it took him a long time before his wife got preggo too. My sis Im not even going there, it took her only one time, so yay for her she is one of the lucky ones.

I tried on my own for 12 months (waste of time for me) Turns out I have stage IV endometriosis. After laporscopic surgery to zap all the endo followed by 3 failed IUI's we did IVF and we were lucky to get a BFP on the first cycle. I would have been happy to continue with IUI's if CF was my only obstacle. But my RE recommended IVF due to the aggressive endo. (it inhibits implantation)

I have non-cf friends and they vary from over a year of trying (that one friend has endo as well) to 1-7 months. But they don't have the thick cervical mucus problem.

All in all, it took me 26 months to get pregnant. Hang in there. Have you been charting your temps? How long are your cycles? Do they seem "regular?" Is there any reason to think you're not ovulating? IUI's are fairly inexpensive (4 years ago they ran me $600/cycle and I was lucky insurance paid half of that) and the IUI will bypass that cervical mucus "brick wall" as I like to call it. Don't get frustrated, get answers. Call your OB today and discuss your options. Options do not always include fertility drugs/methods. Stay informed. That's all I'm saying. And good luck to you.
