GI Docs at CF Clinics

It wouldn't hurt to try someone new, get a second opinion to make sure you're doing everything you can to help her nutritionally. Hopefully you can find a good one, who'll work with you to figure out froggy's digestive issues...

Our local CF clinic has a GI doctor, but we felt he wasn't helpful -- he just seemed to have a script to follow and wouldn't listen to any of our concerns, would criticize what we were doing -- adding cream to his bottles, supplemental Vitamins A&E as per his CF doctor in the City. From day one he was of the opinion that DS would eat when he was hungry, which wasn't the case.

The last straw was when I asked about a liver function test and the man MOCKED me -- repeated the name of the test in snotty sarcastic voice and asked me why the heck should DS have such an expensive blood test.

My daughter's clinic did have a GI doc but he left and when he was here I think she only saw him 2 or 3 times in 2 years. She has mainly GI problems but her CF pulmunologist doc takes care of EVERYTHING for his CF patients. We completely trust him and he knows what he's doing.

i have also encountered this issue...my daughter had the nissan-fundolopication procedure when she received her gtube and we saw the gi doctor one time before that, then at the childrens hospital, and then never a follow up...i had to request a follow up from her cf specialist and was told that the gi doctor was no longer at the hospital. my daughters cf specialist takes care of most of her needs. (my daughter has severe gi issues) but i too feel that a gi specialist is necessary and am going to address this issue the next time we visit our clinic...so in short, my answer would be to seek a different clinic, if maybe only for the gi doctor and explain the reason to your current clinic.
