So im goin back in as ive got that smell in my nose and the doctor thinks i may have possibly became resistant to the medicenes they had me on!..so because im also allergic to penicilen(sp)? I have to be desensitized i was told thats where a allergist comes in an gves you small doese of penicilen?..an then eventualy can gve me the medicene that will help this achromabactor i have!..

That being said i have been having alot of sinus issues pain, pressure, outlines of blur, an the smell..so i askd them for a ct scan of my sinuses and nose cultures cause i read that not everything comes up in a sputum culture!..i also have noticed im more breathless again an my oxygen when i did my 6minute walk test was dropn to 85..well when i was in hospital it dropd only to 89..soo im thnkn chest infection can afect oxygen?..im
Also wandering if a bronchoscopy would be smething to do?..my doctor is going to discuss it further when i see her..i wana make sure im not growing anything else because my fev did not budge after 3 weeks of iv's!..im sitn at 30%!..an i knw that once you go below 30% its very hard to get back up!..an im not going to sit back and let that happen :) soo i guess im wandering if theres any advice or tips i should ask to have done wolst im in hospital lol..i knw fungi bugs can sit n the nose and lungs an not be picked up by sputum
Culture..i just know since i been home i have become more breathless and the smell is back!

So sorry you have to go back into the hospital Carly....how frustrating this all must be for you! It looks like you have a good plan of action once you get settled back in there....Basically, they just need to check everything to make sure nothing is being missed. You mentioned CT scans, possible bronch with cultures, perhaps a peek into the sinuses themselves....all good places to start. Does ID get involved with you as well? Not sure what they do at your hospital...in mine, as soon as they see that I am a patient, they are consulted and are on the case along with my pulmo. They always seem to have additional ideas (sometimes pretty far out, but at least they think out of the box!)

Good luck with everything, I hope that they get things under control and that you regain some of that lung function. The things we have to do just to keep on kicking!

Sending prayers and good vibes,
