Goin' In

Thanks for the well wishes, guys! I was in the hosp. for a week and then they let me go on good behavior with home health for the holiday. I will be venturing back to Salt Lake (5 hours each way.. yuck) tomorrow to have the final appt. and PICC pulling Weds.

I have been feeling better. Still coughing some stuff up, but not as much. I also have a bit more energy, although its still tough to do much cause they have me on continuous IV antibiotics... no breaks at all! This is different for me cause usually I could unplug for a bit and run errands, etc., but this clinic believes in continous and weaker antibiotics for a full 14 days instead of the peaks and troughs you get when you do a full dose and wait several hours with nothing... Its actually a pretty cool concept and I feel pretty good. I'm on aztreonam and tobra IV and cipro (yuck!) 500 mg. 3X/day. So, I'm on some goodies! I wasn't getting better the first week, so they added the cipro. I'm usually resistant to cipro and tobra, but apparently these cultures were different, so that's cool.

Anyway, just a little update and thanks again for ALL the great responses. You guys are soooo great!

Emilee: I think I may have seen you when you were "let out" walking to the elevators with your hubby and daughter (adorable by the way!).... I was the one walking from the "kitchen" with a snack. Did you see me?!?! Anyway, wish we coulda "chatted", and I had all intentions of getting on here to say hello and which room I was in, but could not remember my password on the chat! Sorry it took me this long to respond! Are you feeling better???
