Going for sweat test tomorrow

When we got our diagnosis, I had two healthy boys and my daughter seemd to be pretty healthy as well. I dealt with denial for a long time. I think there is no way to prepare for a blow as big as a diagnosis like this. But knowing that knowledge enables you to get preventative care and preventative care can mean a better chance at your daughter living a long, healthy life.

The dark cloud of a diagnosis does evenually fade. I hope you get good news, but if you don't, just know that you CAN do this -- it will be hard but you CAN and WILL be okay and love your baby girl just as much!!!

I am thinking that sweat tests aren't considered very accurate until babies are older, like 3-6 months???

My daughter was dx via sweat test at 12 months old, before that we had no idea bc she was healthy. She had a rectal prolapse, which is what led to her dx and we were shocked. I hope your daughter doesn't have CF but if she does your family will adjust to a new way of looking at life like the rest of us are doing/have done. It is scary but it isn't the end of the world.

I'm glad they're pursuing genetic testing because DS' sweat test was 32 when he was 3 weeks old.
