Hi All,

My DH and I have been ttc to no avail for a while now. In paying closer attention to my cycles, I found that I have very few days in my cycles where I don't have bleeding of some sort. So, the dr thinks I might have a progesterone deficiency or poss. a uterine polyp. In any case, I am getting a thorough work-up. They are sending me for a hyster-salpinogram during my next cycle. The dr mentioned that they might have trouble sending my falopinal tubes, because I've had too abdominal surgeries (@birth for meconium ileus and @8 for adhesions/blockage). I was wondering if anyone else had been told this.

Thanks!

Mary- sorry this is a little late but I just saw my OB Friday. This is what he explained to me... what might be causing my infertility is...

So bc of our CF we have thick mucus & it might cause our cervical mucus thick too. This could be causing a block up or a "mucus plug." This mucus plug could be in the fallopian tubes preventing the eggs from coming through. OR there could be a mucus plug at the opening of our cervix preventing the sperm from coming through.

So he sent me to a fertility specialist... which i am going to see tomorrow. I will keep you updated on what they say to me...
I know it's not exactly what you were told but I thought it would be around the same topic

Have a good day!!!

Hi KLeigh,

I had an HSG on Tues to look at my tubes and uterus. My tubes are okay, but I may have a uterine polyp and need a sonohystogram. Other than that, it seems I have a progesterone deficiency. Tomorrow, I am getting a test to determine if my cervical mucus is a problem. Unfortunately, other than that, my insurance will cover NOTHING. So, my hubby and I aren't sure where we will go from here. I am very disappointed With of the other medical expenses, we can't really afford to drain our saving on infertility treatments. I hope you have better luck!
