Karen, yes they one about MRSA he had a nasal swab that showed it. But he has been treated aggresively for it so they said it was ok to bring him in. They wanted to see him right away since we had just found out about cf but hadn't been told anything else. His ent has reswabed for MRSA to see if he got rid of it but I also know that it's very hard to get rid of. The lung test, the one where he tries to blow out candles was 112. I don't really know what that means but the dr said it was normal. We are suppose to go back in 3 weeks. We do the sweat test on Thursday.

Thanks!

I feel your pain. We had to wait for Maryams 2nd sweat test a few days as well. They wont start himn any meds till they confirm it with that second test. Did they order stool lests for him to see if he needs enzymes to help digest his food? You know first thing Friday morning I would call jill to get the #s on his sweat test. If he has it done on Thursday they will for sure have it in by Friday. As far as the Lung Function test goes your son is actually above Normal! Think of it like a test with % 100% being an A+. As far as this test goes anything above 90% is normal. 70%-89% mild 50-70% moderate and anything under 50% an F and Failing. These #s can go up and down. It will take a while of them seeing him before they establish a baseline for him. Usually with Acute illness these #s drop. So your son has a little extra reserve which is good for him. If you need someone to talk to Im here.:

2nd sweat test came back 26. What the heck. Now we are really confused. Not sure if he has cf. Waiting for ambrey results. In the meantime we are in limbo. He has been really tired lately. Not acting like his typical self.

The waiting game is terrible. Wish I could make it easier... but I don't know how <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
Some cf patients come out with low sweat test numbers :9 but You heard that before. Warm, warm HUGS

Thank you! My sons been waking up with a sore throut but when I ask where it hurts he points lower towards the bottom of his throut. When we see the ent he always says his throut looks fine. Someone said it could be hs lungs and that we might need to pound his chest each morning. Is this something anyone else is familiar with?
