I always get really nervous at gyno appointments for some reason and it helps me to see the doc while they are doing the exam. So I am always propped up so I can at least see her. Never seemed to bother her or my exam. Hope it goes well

I always tell my doc I need to be propped up, and he totally understands. So, they just get a couple pillows or prop up the table. It has no effect on the gyno exam.

So long as your naughty bits are positioned properly it should be okay if your upper body is propped up - though I will say from experience if your lady parts are not scootched to the right position that speculum is even MORE uncomfy than when you are in the right position.

Good luck with everything and I hope it is all as painless and blood free as possible.

Take Care,
Lindsey

We always ask our patients whether they'd like to lay flat or have the table in a more upright position. Various women prefer one or the other. Tell your doctor that you have some issues of couging while laying down, and would like the table to be more upright so your upper body can be upright. There is NO reason why they can't do it like that.

Also, YES, as them to warm it up a bit. I always do this for my patients, even if the MALE doctors tell me it's not necessary. I kindly remind them afterwards what it would be like to spread their A*sh*le and for me to shove a freezing duck beak in there, wouldn't they rather have it warm?

i never lay flat for my exams-my doc has a reclining table. ask for a room with one, and tell them you can't lay flat bc of your lungs.

The playground is open again!
Everything was fine, the table was on an incline so it was ok and he was in and out in about 2 mins. One of the only times I want a man in and out of my vagina in less than 2 minutes! So all went well.
Thanks for all of the advice!

Last time i went to the gyno, i simply told her i have hemoptysis problems and laying flat is out of the question. She propped the table up so that she could do the examination while i was propped up and worry free .
edit to add......... i just saw that you already went, im glad it worked out for you
