Jodi Picoult (though some of her endings make me want to scream and throw the book at the wall)

So true, although I really enjoy the stories!
Maeve Binchy is another good one.

Have you read Water for Elephants? Its a great one.

I just discovered Kristin Hannah. I think I'll need to read many of her books. She has a way with small details that really give her characters and stories a depth and realism. I'm reading Firefly Lane now (Amber, this one wouldn't do much for you, it spans the 70's, 80's and 90's and you kind of needed to be there to get many of the references!) But, I would suggest Magic Hour to anyone. Excellent read!

Harriett, I agree with Jodi Picoult! Haha, I read My Sister's Keeper last summer, I was really into but the ending made me so mad! I didn't like the ending. Kinda ruined the whole book for me.

Nessa Ann,
I have had a few friends tell me that Speak was a good book so I might try that one! I will look into the other ones too. I trust an English teacher<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks for the suggestions. keep them coming if you have any more.
