Is it wrong that this excites me?
Don't get me wrong I'd never wish the cf diagnosis on any person or family.

This will be great publicity for cf.

I agree with you. WHile I feel for any family to have CF put on them, this is great for CF's research potential. If he is going to be suceeding Tony Blair I can see a lot of money being appropriated for CF research and the big breakthrough happening over there instead of in the US.

Maybe I'm naive, but surely if he were to suddenly start throwing a lot of money specifically at 'CF' research.......he'd get in trouble??? Smacks of nepotism really and I doubt he'd be able to get away with it, unfortunately!!

I always used to say....Let someone "in high standing" get hit with cf in their lives and watch how fast something that helps us with cf pops up. Im am probably wrong, but it just seems like they are REALLY dragging their feet with the new treatments, this , that and the next thing i hear of, and never see. Maybe this news will give it the push it needs.

I got the same feeling when I heard this, that the publicity will be for the better, that was after I felt sorrow for them. They lost their first born, a girl, 4 years ago to a brain hemmorage aged 10 days.
It is such a shame for them to be hit like this so soon.

Does bring about more awareness/publicity; however, I can't imagine what it would be like to not only have to deal with the shock, heartbreak, emotional upheaval of this diagnosis, while being in the public eye.
