Got my GTT results - what are your numbers?

So I've gotten ultra proactive about my CF (largely in part to this site) and I'm insisting on testing for this that and the other thing. I really don't care what it costs, my attitude is "I'm worth it!" So back in April I demanded that I get my GTT score to establish a baseline. My doctor, present and past, did not think it was necessary because I do not have any of the CFRD symptoms and my annual bloodwork doesn't show any irregularities. Needless to say I got my way and just received the results yesterday.

My fasting rate was 83.
One hour after drinking the carbonated sweet stuff it measured 162.
After two hours 108.

My doctor said that I need to cut back on white refined sugar to "give my eyelet cell reserves" a rest. Evidently my body takes a while to process sugar but that I do not have numbers high enough to be considered CFRD?

Thoughts?

Sounds good to me . As long as you exercise( or at least stay active in some way) and watch your intake of sweets ( nothing too excessive) you should be fine with those #'s . Doesn't mean you cant some day have diabetes ( although you may never have diabetes) , but with those #'s , so far you dont

Oops forgot to mention, when i was diagnosed with diabetes my #'s were a bit over 1000 . Too many years ago for me to remember exactly what they were ( 1980) . I do not recall any of my GTT test results but they were never as good as yours.

OK?????? I go to Canada for my check up and just recieved a few days ago an email with my results and it reads "OGTT for diabetes: fasting 5.2 2hr 6.6"
And in the email she said "Everthing looks really good - all normal."
Does anyone know Canada use some sort of different measurement units or something? with those #'s that I have against the #'s you have, if you are normal then I should've passed out long time ago!!! LOL Just curious why such difference, I'm not worried or anything as they said everything id god and normal and I dont have any symptoms, but anyway maybe someone knows?

I was just talking to my endocrinologist the last visit I had about how high your sugars have to be in order to be diagnosed diabetic. His response was ....

Fasting B.G = is over 126 you are technically diabetic
2 Hours after meals = is over 200 you are diabetic

Going by that and the fact that the normal range is 80-120 I think you are pretty perfect in the Blood Glucose category for now at least. When I was diagnosed with CFRD my blood sugars were running well into the 300s everyday/all day.
