I've noticed in the day or so that I've browsed through this message board that many of you are neglecting to use the proper spelling of a word that is synonymous with "certainly".

Permit me to enlighten you.

D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y

adv. determined; finite; certain. It's definitely not spelled DefinATEly.

Silence will save me from being wrong (and foolish), but it will also
deprive me of the possibility of being right. ~ Igor Stravinsky

p.s. Lgrace, you may want to take the above quote to heart.

Some misspelled words usually show up in my posts. Please forgive me. When I read posts, I am more interested in the content of the words than the spelling. Hope others do the same.

oh look the spelling police have arrived. i guess we should refrain from helping others if we think we might spell a word wrong.

I myself am quite the spelling policewoman. Generally speaking, though, I only offer corrections to people I know would like them to learn from. Allie does that for me when I make a mistake, because she knows I prefer to learn from a mistake and spell correctly thereafter (yes that's right, I value proper spelling, and I *gasp* make mistakes). At the same time, berating people for it gets you nowhere. It's just not some people's strong point. My fiance is a terrible speller, but quite an intelligent young man.

There's no spell check in the "reply" boxes, to my current knowledge. If it's that big of a deal to you, suggest a spell check option to the mods.

That's a spelling error you are correcting, not a grammatical one. I suggest brushing up on your word choice while correcting other people.

Who cares if someone spells incorrectly or not on here? I myself am a great speller, but I type so fast that I don't recheck my words sometimes. Shouldn't this be in offtopics?

LOL, this is F-ing hillarious. Are you kidding me? I am an anal speller, LOVE to edit Marks papers for spelling and GRAMMATICAL errors.... but this forum isn't an english final or a term paper. Sometimes I type too fast and screw up and don't correct it, people still get the message all the same. And there are two or three words in then english dictionary that I KNOW I always spell wrong (unless spell checking) but I care more about getting my post on the forum than about how I spell my words. This is hillarious.....

As Jane said, hopefully people are more interested in the content of the words rather than the spelling.

If it really bothers you that much, YOU HAVE SOME SERIOUS CONTROL ISSUES.

This is why 75% of the time I hate anon posters, you hid behind the anon, instead of stating who you are when making such a moronic post. Furthermore, you INSULT someone when you post as anon. Lgrace stated her opinion and then recanted it for whatever reason (I missed the post). #1. give her credit for that, and #2. just because you don't agree with her thoughts doesn't make her wrong and you right. It just gives you different opinions. This word would never go round if everyone lived by Igor Stravinsky's quote.

Allie....I LOVE you !!!! LOL I'm still laughing.....

I mispell often but most of it for me is that some keys don't always go when I type fast! Or I mix up a bunch of letters when I get going. I hate that, but I don't care enough about it to reread all of my posts before hitting send. I figure, you get the point. Other days I'm a bit more consistent about it and check. Can't say I care much.

Dear Professor Anon,

Are we going to be graded afterwards, or can we get a syllabus so we know what we are suppose to study?

Can you clairify who I send my homework assignments to? I definately want to thank you... scratch that, definitely want to thank you for the correction. I hope I get an A+ in your class.

Cheers

There are a few people on here that notice spelling errors. It has even come up during responses to heated posts or with anonymous usernames. I dont mind being reminded how to spell something or it being pointed out, but quite frankly when I am typing/responding I am not completely worried about it. I think even with incorrect spelling that the message gets across. For those that is irritates I apologize for the past errors & all future errors. That being said.....lets move onto more CF related health issues shall we?!

considering this post is aimed at Lgrace (see the p.s. below the signature) I think it should be deleted. She's a new member...please do we have to give eachother such a hard time?!! I think she had enough 'fun' on here yesterday. Ugh! Btw, I love so of your responses..
