The problem is as soon as he see's the spoon coming with apple sauce, pudding, baby food - anything he starts fighting it - then gags if we can get it down - or throw's up then because of the stress of all that if we do get it down then he doesnt want to eat.

We had a similar issue with DS -- he hated applesauce AND he hated pregistimil (formula). Life became much easier with baby food bananas and regular formula.

I know he's only two, but is there any way they could try to give him the whole capsules to swallow. DS started taking pills when he was 3 or 4. Or maybe give him some control and let him choose how he gets his enzymes, let him sprinkle the enzymes on ketchup, jelly, maple syryp himself and put the spoon in his mouth himself.

Hi! I want to make sure that you get answers to your questions. You should post it under the Newly Diagnosed Forum...this is my post under Newly Diagnosed and I am afraid that you won't get the answers you need. I'm sorry but I have no information for you, my grandson was just diagnosed two weeks ago and has the F508 in combination wtih a different gene, but from what I understand, there really is not way to tell what the symptoms will manifest as. When you post your question on the Newly Diagnosed - Ask Steve Keiles of Ambry Genetics, CF and Genetics FAQ forum...he will answer and is very responsive and informative. Good luck!
