All,
My name is Roy Ice. 8 months ago, we launched www.juliesdreamteam.com in honor of my wife Julie. Julie has CF. She recently turned 40.
I wanted to share two things with this forum:
1) A recent agreement signed between Julie's Dream Team (JDT) and Papa John's International calls for 20% of an order's total to be donated directly to the the CF Foundation. Currently, this agreement only extends to the Louisville and Lexington, KY stores (48 total). Thus far, the code has been entered approximately 1215 times. We are very pleased with the results but know that we can do a lot better. Rich Butler, Director of Operations has asked that anyone requesting the CURECF code be used in their cities/states to email him at: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="mailto:rich_butler@papajohns.com">rich_butler@papajohns.com</a>. Be certain that you let him know your city and state. I'd like to BLOW his email up with request. He is the one that is telling the top executives about our passion to find a cure. We need your help.
2) In January, JDT reached an agreement with SanMar. SanMar is our nation's leader in apparel. That agreement called for SanMar to drastically reduce their cost, thereby allowing an increased donation to the CF Foundation. Typically, a purchase from our JDT web store results in 50% of that purchase price being donated to the CF Foundation. The other 50% consist of the cost of the item, embroidery fees, taxes etc.
*****Here's your part*****
While our team of 1600+ is large, at some point, a person can own only so many JDT embroidered items. I have asked SanMar to waive any/all fees associated with other teams that may wish to have team apparel. They have agreed. Don't get me wrong. A tshirt is nice. An embroidered team logo keeps people asking about our teams. It offers a chance for us to continue to talk about CF and our shared desire for a cure. If anyone is interested, shoot me an email at <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="mailto:ukulfan@insightbb.com">Julie's Dream Team</a>. I'll work with you to get your team set up. You can view the JDT Store at <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.juliesdreamteam.com">JDT Store</a>.
On May 21, Julie's Dream Team will have teams walking in 10 states: CA, CO, TX, MINN, OH, KY, NE, SC, GA, and FLA. If you'd like to join us visit the Great Strides home page and search for Julie's Dream Team.
Whew! I know that was a lot to take in but there's a lot at stake.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Roy E. Ice
