Gross topic

My mucus is quite thick. I cough up alot as well. In dispensing a whole cup of it I can easily see that it is much thicker than the thickest egg white.

Which brings me to my gross question... Mucus is full of protein, have any of you tried cooking (not eating, just cooking) your mucus just to see what happens? What it looks like?

Scrambled eggs? Maybe?

Hmmm.... I'll have to collect my morning mucus sometime (that's the thickest grossest stuff) and see what I can do with it. LOL... course I won't do that here at Mike's.. his poor mom. I'll do it in my apartment once I move back in on Saturday. Ahahahhaa.

Actually... I'm a liar. I've left a spit cup out in my car on a 90-100 degree weekend when I was visiting a friend out of state so I pretty much know what happens if you try to cook it. It loses some of its volume, turns darker green, and gets harder and stickier. Hah. This really is gross. Hahahahaa.

I find whats funny is some of the guys think this is gross. I am like Emily I would try it just to see. Except I would have to clean the pan later. I am just to lazy. I think it would just kinda dry up and look worse.

Oh My Word...LOL... When you said gross I was thinking typical CF things someone might consider a little unusual (BM's, gas, mucus) lol.... I never even considered the thought of cooking the stuff... I damn near choked on a piece of popcorn....

I don't think I'll mention this one to my daughter...she might make me try it.

Sick!
lol I like the occasional disgusting comment in my life, so no offense! Actually, are you sure that would even be healthy? I mean, obviously you can't ask your doctor. I can see it now: "Hey doc, I need to ask you something," "Alright, shoot!" "Can you cook your mucus in something?" (long pause) "I was just ASKING!"
I don't know if it'd be a good idea. I have heard of people eating ants(ugh!). I don't think I like this idea...

this is really funny, nasty but funny. I must say I am gorssed out but still a bit intriegued, Mark wouldn't go for it though. He'd probably take me to the doctors for even asking.....

Now I havne't cooked it but I left it (by accident) in my conservatory (w/ double glazed windows). When I found it, it had gone hard (*not* that i touched) and kind of brown and thin around the edges.

I live in Texas and it gets so hot you can fry an egg on the hood of your car. Well my son spit a loogie on my car and I still can't scrape all of it off!! It turned whitish and seemed to fuse to the car paint, a constant reminder of my son's amazing mucus!

Two things you've gotta admit about CF Patients, they're witty and ingenious.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

All I have to say is .....EEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! LOL!!!! I don't think it would scramble up, just the liquid would evaporate and leave the nasty ick left...I don't think it would look like eggs!!!! How on earth did you think of that one? LOL! I am definitely not going to try that one, I will leave t hat one to the more braver souls.
