GRR sick family members!

... looks like it's the same all over the world.
<br />I can't get my brother to understand - he has two daughters and one of them goes to kindergarden - they are sick all the time or carry something - but they visit my mom who comes to help with Joanna - because I work - and infect her. And all I hear is spoken in anger -" so what, I can't even caugth beside your child!" and of goes an argument.
<br />The same goes for my parents in law : "What - wash my hands?! You're saing I'm dirty!"
<br />Our friends also have a habbit of saing - oh - just this once....
<br />In Poland we don't go trick or treating - but it's infection time know - and Jaonna has her birthday - and so do two of my brother's daughters. It's always a very difficult time for us....
<br />I wonder - what's the usuall argument you use?

I think we can argue with family and friends till we are blue in the face and they still won't get it. They will never understand how a small cold can put fear in us because a small cold for our child is a monster.

I wish there was a video out there that showed a small child struggling to catch his/her breath doing the nebs and all the other stuff just to get by, and say "Here this is what we live with". To put it right in their face.

Someday....

I wish there was a video out there that showed a small child struggling to catch his/her breath doing the nebs and all the other stuff just to get by, and say "Here this is what we live with". To put it right in their face.

Isn't there a video somewhere showing how cold germs spread on hands and doorknobs. Star stickers are used to show how germs are transferred. There's also a sneeze one I think that shows how far a sneeze spreads. Bleah!

We have set the tone since birth with Philip. I also have a website <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.philipsjourney.weebly.com">Philip's Journey</a>. I invited family to it when I first started it. I wrote out the importance of all of these things and stated that we would unfortunately be disconnected from family that failed to understand. That was a shame but we are responsible for the health of our son and that it IS a life and death choice. Most family is understanding but a select few are idiots and selfish. :-(

I am so sorry you have to deal with this Catherine. I still go through the same thing every holiday- upsetting people who I can't be around because they have been sick.

I know you know that you are doing the right thing and you are 100% supported here!

It's good to have it out though. Thank you also - I don't feel so such a bud mom any longer .....
I don't feell alone.
