Half Marathon

I just finished the Philly Distance Run today. Anyone else take part in this? I have not gotten my official time yet.

I had to stop for a couple minutes because I did not eat enough bananas beforehand and I cramped up. (I am still cramping as I type). But other than that, I did not have a problem running the 13 miles and I feel running always does more than any medicine has done to clear my lungs.

Congrats on finishing a half-marathon, that's awesome!!! I did not take part in the one you ran, I did one last year and absolutely loved it (except that it was a really hilly course) but so much fun, and such a sense of accomplishment. I agree, it definitely clears me out more than anything else. Congrats again, that's awesome! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Congratulations on your 13 mile run!!! That is awesome!!! I only run a couple miles every other day or so on the treadmill (our air quality is terrible here with the dust outside)... You are an inspiration that it can be done.

May I ask, did you run the 13 miles constant or stop every now and again? I used to stop a lot when I first started running, but now I can run a constant mile or mile and a half. Its a GREAT feeling!

Anyway, let us know when you get your time. Either way, this is such a great accomplishment for you! YAY!

I ran the whole thing throughout. I ran too fast at the beginning 5 miles (passing a lot of people and feeling good) but that was a big mistake and I was too tired the rest of the way to blow by them. Also my ankle is always doing most of the work and fatigues easily.

The only time I walked was the couple minutes that my legs were cramping in my hamstrings, quads and ankles. And that was at the 12.5 mile mark, so that pissed me off!!!

Wow--you are all such an inspiration to me! I really need to get out there and start doing something, anything, by way of excercising. You are all working so hard to stay healthy, and here I am, with the only excercise I get being all the walking I do on my job! I'm ashamed of myself for taking my health for granted. Keep up the good work--I too ,am proud of you!
