has anyone else gotten mixed up while in the hospital

Yup, I was given someone else's diuretic while hospitalized.
I asked the nurse why she gave that to me after she had already given the med.
She 'bout freaked!
It was too late; she'd already dispensed the med.
Fortunately, all it did was make me pee alot.
There was, however, a huge stink over her mistake.

I once had a near-miss; the nurse came in with inuslin around 5pm and I had not eaten for five hours, and they had not checked my blood sugar since before lunch. I refused the two units and demanded they test. I was around 120. If I had taken 2 units with my BS of 120, I would have been in big trouble.

Also check your hospital bills, line by line. A few admissions ago, they had charged my insurance for two injections of Chemotherapy at $13,000 each. I first contacted the hospital to make sure that they hadn't given it to me, then the billing department, my physician, and my insurance (who were psyched to saved $26,000!!).

Mistakes are all too common.
