Having a bronchscopy

has anyone had a bronchscopy and did it help bring up your lung functions? My son is 19 and he is having a bronch, he had one about 5 years ago but his lung functions were still in 90's, they did it because he was coughing alot and nothning seemed to help, after the bronch they put him on IV therapy and he got alot better, I am wondering if the bronch helps with moving the mucus and if anyones lung function improved? I guess I am just worried for him and wanted to know if anyone noticed any improvement.

My 10yro had one back in August. They went in and got alot of the junk out that had built up. He was better after that. I think they are worth it so far.

I will try, we know he will be put to sleep from what we understand, he did not remenber the one 5 yrs ago. They go in through the nose I think? They take some speciems, and we were told they would get out some of his plugs that are down in the lower lung which they feel is causing his lower fev, I am no expert on this so I am only telling you what we were told from UNC, I hope more respond to this so I can stop being so worried about him and this procedure.
