Headaches

Hi,
Our 4 yr old is on Cipro for pseudamonas for the 2nd time since November. As far as I can remember she tolerated it ok the first time but this time is a bit different. She has had a lot of headaches over the past couple of weeks and we're wondering if it isn't related to the Cipro. I'm just wondering if other people get headaches on Cipro, or if I should get it checked to see if it isn't something else.

Thanks,

Possibly some sinus issue? Have the docs checked that possibility?
I have taken Cipro and don't remember getting headaches. Is that one of the side effects listed?

i think you should get it checked out just to be safe.. my son was on bactrium a few times no problem then all of a sudden developed hives.. he was real sick for a few days cause he had antibotics built up in his system, that he was allergic to.. id get it checked to be safe.. melissa

My son did the EXACT same thing on Bactrim. And he had been on it before. Is it a different dose this time around?

We had a similar problem when Jordan was little. Bactrim is a sulfa drug, and it's not that unusual for people to develop allergies to sulfa meds. But you have to be exposed one or more times before an allergy can develop. We were forewarned, though, because there's a family history of this allergy.
