Hi Melissa,
I haven't read others' responses yet, so this might be repetitive. I also have hearing loss and sometimes it's more so then other times. I get it when you hear muffled breathing, I've also had it really bad when voices on the phone sounded like chipmunks (not fun!).
For me, hearing loss has started all of a sudden, not gradual, and there's something like the TV or phone ringing that brings it to my attention. Most of the hearing loss always ends up coming back for me. If I go off of whatever med is the cause, then the hearing comes back soon after. So far, that has been my experience when it comes back if you go off of it. I do have continuous light ringing, tinitus, that I'm more aware of when it's silent. Sometimes the ringing is a little more loud right after TOBI, but it gradually quiets down soon after.
Hope that helps.
