Oh, and as they say, "If it hurts, don't do that!" ...at least until you can get someone to check it out better. If you can find a "comfortable" position to keep your arm in, do that. It will be a bit stiff in the morning, but at least it won't be "poking" you, in case you do need to have you picc moved out a tad .

It may just be irritation from having the picc in, and it rubbing something there-especially if it has gotten up against a nerve...I really don't know. I've had scar tissue in the crook of my arm from piccs that hurt, but not a poking feeling, more of a tight, ouch! stretching feeling.

But if it is flushing well, and is working right during meds, then it is probably just irritation from it being in there, in a spot you move around a good bit. Just my best guess, though.
Can you make sure that your meds are room (or better, body temp?) right before you do them? I seem to remember that helping to make my line in my arm feel better when it got sore. Cold meds were H*ll. I also think I remember warm, moist compresses when my insertion site would get irritated from the movement between meds. I'd try the vicodin, and see if it feels better in the morning if it's doing okay otherwise.

Watch for redness and swelling in the spot that hurts, and if that starts, go back pronto. I'd also ask for your nurse to come out tomorrow and give it the once over, just to make sure (and reassure you!) that everything is fine.

I hope it feels better in the morning!

Sorry! I was hoping I could help with something concrete...Let me know how it is in the morning! Night night, I've got to go to bed and rest up- it's my b'day !
