Hello everyone. I am very happy to be apart of this group. I have 2 wonderful children our daughter almost 13 wcf and our 2 year old son wocf. we found out only 3 years ago that our daughter has cf. well anyway to my question....

We have been doing great strides now for our second year. I was wondering about the parents on the great strides page who do the letter writing. The one mom wrote 800 letters, now are these letters to people they know or don't know. I have been writing letters to businesses in our area. I don't know these people. does anyone know about this letter writing . If you do can you please help me.

I send letters and emails to people that I work with -- from committees, contractors, consultants, sales people... I've gone onto my college and high school alumni sites and gotten emails/addresses, friends of the family. Some people contact their hairstylists, dentists, neighbors.... The letter I use, it the Friends and Family template off the great strides webpage. I think someone else gave an example on this site with the same format. I also insert a couple of photos within the document. I know one family who just has a picture of their child with the walk date put on a post card that they send out.

I haven't had much luck with the email campaign. I sent out about 30 last week and haven't gotten any responses. In the past it's just been my sibling and parents. I also send out about 100 letters.

My husband keeps a list of people who hit him up for donations for their kids events -- pizzas, cookie dough, coupon books, raffle tickets. I don't like asking people in person.
