Help...Blood

Last night after I complete my nebs and my vest, I felt that gurgling feeling in my lungs. This has only happened a few time but sure enough blood. Pure red blood. I coughed up about 4 tablespoons of blood but kept feeling that gurgling. I woke up did my morning nebs and vest and had no problems. I am now at work and have a very annoying tickle and cough. Should I call the doctor and let him know about the blood or wait and see if it happens again. The funny thing is the stuff I'm coughing up this morning is very clear...which is not normal for me.

It has been about 8 years since I have coughed up pure red blood. I am by no means an expert with this so any help would be appreciated.

Since it is fairly uncommon for you I would definitely contact the doctor. Just take it easy as to not irritate it for now. Good Luck!

Definitely call the Doctor since it isnt the "norm" for you. There may be something brewing. Hemoptysis can be a warning so i would definitely call the Doc.

I say call the doc as well. Also, next time you meet with your doctor establish an emergency plan for a big bleed. It's best to have it in place so your not fumbling around with the ER. I have the 24 phone number for a cf doctor on call that will notify intraventional radiology that I'm on my way in for an embolization. My husband and I both know where to go. We won't be waiting around for help when there's an emergency...but in the meantime I thank God that I have only had small bleeds (2 Tsp.) that clot at once.

Are you on additional Vit K to your ADEK tabs? You should be at least while you are having bleeding probs.

Good luck and stay strong. Don't overdue the chest pt.

Thanks for the advice. I did call the doctor. We made a plan for if it happened again. Thankfully it didn't.

I do have a sinus infection so I wonder if it was any relation. My doc put me on Bactrum so I am feeling great.
