I had a form of heart attack the day I helped my ex haul his stuff to a storage unit. I didn't go to the ER, so it's nowhere in my medical records. It was clear to me I needed my ex to leave so I could get well. So I didn't go see a doctor because I didn't want him to go "Oh, my god -- you are too sick for me to leave!"

Anyway, I have worked on rebuilding my heart in the nearly 4 years since he moved out. I used to be prone to arrhythmia. I no longer have that. My heart is stronger now than it has ever been. I also am prone to nosebleeds. So here are a few of my thoughts, FWIW. I can't prove any of it. It's just what I think helped me and (to the best of my ability to figure it out) why it helped.

I took lots of co-q-10 for a long time. I still take it, but at much lower doses. I used to take 400mg to 600mg every morning -- which gets quite expensive. Co-q-10 is made in the body in a 17 step process, so it is something we tend to be deficient in. I have heard someone say that magnesium is one of the ingredients the body uses to make co-q-10, so taking more magnesium may be a cheaper way to help boost this vital nutrient. If I recall correctly, co-q-10 is good for not only the heart but also the lungs. I have heard that many heart problems actually start as lung problems, so supporting both is important if you really want a strong heart.

Co-q-10 is the co-enzyme for melatonin and taking it in the morning, around 12 hours before you want to sleep, helps boost melatonin production and helps straighten out the sleep cycle. Melatonin plays an important role not only in the sleep cycle but also in the immune system. I have come to think that insomnia when I am sick is due in part to the body using up melatonin for immune purposes and not having enough left over for sleeping. So I believe the sleep cycle and availability of sufficient melatonin are really important to getting well.

Sea salt and glyconutrients and healthy oils have also helped my heart. I can sometimes feel electrical tremors in my left arm when I take sea salt, similar to the ones I felt when I had some form of heart attack. I think it is the nerves healing. The heart puts out way more electrical pulses than the human brain. Salt is an electrolyte. I think good, healthy salts are important to the electrical functions of the body and that is a major thing for the heart. Healthy oils play a role in myelin sheaths, or some such -- which has to do with making healthy brain and nerve cells.

For nose bleeds, getting enough sea salt and healthy oils has made me less prone to dehydration and that alone has made me less likely to get a nosebleed. I put carmex in my nose at least twice a day -- just before going to work and in the evening before bedtime. It helps keep my mucus membranes moist and it is medicinal so it helps my nose heal up. I also use it to create a "gel bandage" so to speak if I have trouble stopping a nosebleed. Because it plugs it up with a flexible substance, it is superior to normal clotting for preventing the nosebleed from recurring. In recent weeks, I have had very good results with taking 400mg to 1000mg of calcium citrate to help stop a nosebleed. I read that calcium is necessary to start the clotting process. So it makes sense to me that if there isn't enough calcium available, the body would be unable to effectively stop a bleed once it gets started and may also be more prone to bleeds.

In the last 18 or 20 months, I have taken olive leaf extract (OLE) almost every day. One one email list, OLE is recommended for treating Strep infections. Strep can cause heart damage. I have had a great deal of strep die-off since last summer and it has helped my heart grow stronger. Every time I have bad Strep die-off, it gives me a thready pulse and bothers my heart. Afterwards, my heart is better. I suspect I have had mild Strep-related heart damage since childhood. That may be part of why I was always prone to arrhythmia.

I also take plenty of iron and b-complex. I get very severely anemic if I don't. It helps keep my blood supply strong and I assume that also helps support my heart and may help support clotting.

I have also worked a lot on getting my ph balance under control. That has done a lot to get lung inflammation under control without drugs and has helped me get off multiple anti-inflammatory drugs.

Good luck with this, whatever the answer turns out to be for you.

Are you taking Vitamin K? I know when I neglect to take my Vit K that I get nosebleeds, although not one-sided.

Not sure about the blood pressure, although mine were lots higher while I was pregnant.
