Help malabsorbing

Tiffany,
Our little girl is also 2 and has been having malabsorption issues for over a year. We see our CF team once a month, in addition to the GI doctor every 4-6 weeks. Your description sounded very similar to our daughter's situation. We even had a biopsy done a few months ago. After that came back negative she had a Hydrogen Breath Test to check for bacterial overgrowth (also known as SIBO). We founded out that is what has been causing the malabsorption. Her small intestines have bacteria growing in them. She had a meconium ileus when she was born and had surgery at 1 day old. About 2 weeks ago the doctors decided to have an upper GI barium x-ray done and found out that her small intestines are still dilated, which is where all that bacteria is growing. Did your daughter have a meconium ileus at birth? You may want to suggest the bacterial overgrowth to the GI doctor. Please let me know if I can help answer any questions! Leslie
