I was looking on Great White's website and they list Genetic testing sites under both PPO and HMO plans, 2 of them actually, the one Genzyme Genetics
(800) 326-7002 , i am pretty sure does CF testing, I would contact them and see if they can work on your behalf with your insurance, also, did u personally get denial letters from your insurance, or did they just deny the dr's request?

I have recieved one denial letter and they state the other should be on its way with days. I am currently trying to go through our HR dept and find anyone in my company who might have a child with CF or know of any other person who has required genetic testing for whichever reason. I am going to call the number above and I am also going to be in touch with Steve (the ambry guy) to find out another path. There has to be something I can do. It really does bother me that I work my butt of and I pay my taxes and donate to charities but when I need help I am coming up endless. I refuse to stop until I can get the test done. Thank you for your help!!!

Sorry to hear all u r going through, but glad to see u r more determined than ever, as that makes u a great parent. It's amazing that in today's age, of technology, u r getting such resistence. Wouldn't u think an insurance company would want to spend a few dollars now getting the correct diagnosis that can help start preventative treatment, then going on and on with poblems that can result in deterioation and more expenses in the long run.
I think the HR is a good place to go, they should have a contact person with your insurance company, that can try and get this resolved.
Good luck, and let us know what happens
